Protect the public and the environment from exposure to contamination caused by improper treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous waste, including Chemical Warfare Agents which are classified as hazardous wastes in the State of Utah.
Remain current in all areas of the Military Chemical Demilitarization program to include Alternative Technologies, Waste Management Guidelines and Procedures, and Other Waste Management Programs ensuring well informed and timely decisions in all phases of the program.
Advise the Department of Defense in the disposal of aging chemical agent weapons and in the cleanup of sites contaminated with chemical warfare agent and/or other hazardous wastes in a safe, efficient, and environmentally safe manner. We encourage the use of innovative on-site technologies to accomplish cleanup goals.
Insure all Chemical Demilitarization programs comply with all EPA and State of Utah rules and regulations.
